Cal Football Vs. Utah Update: Zach Maynard Cruising, Bears Pummeling Utes 34-3

The California Golden Bears have totally wiped the mat with the Utah Utes. Taking a 20-0 lead into halftime, Cal has opened it up even further.  Zach Maynard has probably put up his best offensive effort against a stout Utah front, using a variety of rollouts, zone reads, and QB draws to get some big plays going. Maynard has completed 65% of his passes for 255 yards and one touchdown (with no interceptions). He also has rushed for 36 yards and a zone read touchdown to put Cal up 27-0 on another impressive third quarter offensive drive. Cal has racked up 385 yards of total offense to Utah's 114.

Cal's defense has also taken advantage of Utah turnovers to blow things open. Stefan McClure notched his first career interception, and Josh Hill read the eyes of Jon Hays on a 32 yard pick-six to get Cal's fourth touchdown on the day. Utah did get on the board with an early fourth quarter Coleman Petersen field goal.
