Andrew Luck had a quiet first half for the Stanford Cardinal, but he has had an eye-opening third quarter against the WSU Cougars in Washington.
The Heisman Trophy contender has completed a pair of touchdown passes to tight end Levine Toilolo, who has 36 receiving yards in the game. Early in the fourth quarter, Stanford led another drive downfield, culminating in an eight-yard pass from Luck to Stepfan Taylor, which puts the Cardinal up 31-7 and potentially puts this one out of reach for WSU. So far, Luck is 18-for-32 with 262 yards, three touchdowns and an interception.
The Stanford defense has been no slouch, either. They've held the Cougars to 118 total yards of offense, which certainly isn't what WSU hoped for coming into this Pac-12 divisional game. Their quarterback Jeff Tuel is only 15-for-24 with 115 passing yards.
Stanford came into this game looking to make a big statement, and they've done just that.
