The Kings got off to a blazing start in Detroit tonight, hitting 70% of their shots to start the game. A lot of this had to do with some great ball movement, as 21 of the Kings’ 30 field goals were assisted at the half.
Jason Thompson led the way for the Kings, scoring 20 points on 9-10 from the field, just 2 points away from his season high, and 7 from his career high. Thompson also had 3 rebounds, an assist and no fouls.
Tyreke Evans has been in stellar form as well tonight, adding 18 for Sacramento on 8-11 from the field, and more importantly with 9 assists to only 1 turnover. He also has 3 steals and 2 rebounds.
For the Pistons, they received a nice spark off the bench from Will Bynum in the 2nd quarter. Bynum has been able to get wherever he’s wanted to on the court, and scored 11 points and dished out 5 assists as well, all in the 2nd quarter, to help keep the Pistons in the game. In fact, the Piston’s bench has been outperforming the starters, with Ben Gordon (9 points) and Charlie Villanueva (10 points) also shooting well.
Detroit lost Tracy McGrady late in the first quarter to a bruised shin. His return is possible. Tyreke Evans also missed some time with a cut lip, but came back into the game.
