This weekend, a Bay Area team will be battling for a championship as the FC Gold Pride battles the Philadelphia Independence in the Women's Professional Soccer (WPS) Championship match this Sunday September 26. The match takes place at Cal State East Bay in Hayward at 11:30am pacific.
↵Philadelphia won their opening round match over the Washington Freedom 1-0 and then followed that up with a 2-1 victory over the Boston Breakers. Philadelphia finished the regular season third and dropped all three of their matches with the FC Gold Pride. The Gold Pride won at Philadelphia 3-1 and took the two home matches 2-0 and 4-1.
