San Francisco 49ers vs New Orleans Saints: 49ers At An Early Crossroads In Primetime

The San Francisco 49ers return home for the second week of the NFL season and will be hosting the defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football. The 49ers are coming off an ugly blowout loss on the road at the Seattle Seahawks and will be looking to get back on track in arguably their toughest game of the season.

The 49ers came into last week as the prohibitive favorite to win the NFC West in 2010, but were immediately tripped up by a Seahawks squad that most would say does not have near the talent of the 49ers. Of course, there's always the old saying about Any Given Sunday, and it proved true last Sunday. The 49ers opened with a strong first quarter and a half and then proceeded to fall apart as quickly as one can imagine.

As the team has moved on from week one, the turmoil has only grown with the recent article at Yahoo! Sports discussing a variety of issues related to the relationship between Coach Singletary, OC Jimmy Raye, QB Coach Mike Johnson, and the players. The team has a lot to do to get their minds straight and moving forward as they face the Saints.

We'll be here all week with updates on the OC situation, injury news, and anything else related to the 49ers upcoming Monday Night Football contest with the defending Super Bowl champions.

Game time: 5:30 PM (PDT) Monday, September 20th
