Quakes, Dallas Scoreless Through First Half

In a game dominated by organized defenses and uncreative offenses San Jose and Dallas remain tied at 0-0 after 45 minutes. Both teams have mustered only two shots, few of which have truly bothered the goalkeepers. Geovanni created San Jose’s best scoring chance on a dead ball free kick that narrowly went wide past the left post. Dallas also nearly scored an own goal that Hartman snared as it touched the line.

Dallas midfielder Eric Alexander picked up the game’s only yellow card for running over Bobby Convey.

San Jose will look to create more opportunities for Geovanni, and a change at forward (presumably with the removal of Cornell Glen) would not be surprising. Dallas will probably look to maintain more possession and force San Jose back into their own half.
