In the least surprising move of the day, the Oakland A’s officially called up infielder Jeff Larish, and top prospect 1B/OF Chris Carter. Daric Barton suffered shoulder spasms yesterday, while Matt Watson is dealing with kidney stones.
To make room for Carter and Larish, the A’s sent Matt Carson to Sacramento and placed Watson on the DL. According to Susan Slusser, Chris Carter confirmed that he would start in left field tonight. Exciting times for the A’s.
