Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) - Tim Hudson worked masterfully through eight innings and Troy Glaus provided enough offense with a two-run single, as Atlanta notched a 3-0 victory against the Giants in the continuation of a four-game series at Turner Field.
Rick Ankiel followed Glaus' key hit in the fourth with an RBI double as the Braves gave Hudson (13-5) all the run support he would need in one at-bat.
The streaking right-hander ran his win streak to four consecutive starts in which time he's surrendered just two runs over 28 2/3 innings. He allowed just three hits Saturday with one walk and six strikeouts. Billy Wagnerstruck out the side in the ninth for his 27th save.
The outing gave Atlanta its third win in four games and maintained the club's slim lead over Philadelphia atop the NL East standings.
San Francisco's Matt Cain (9-9) was pulled after five innings having allowed six hits and three runs while walking two and recording four strikeouts.
The Giants had won five of their last seven games after taking Friday's result, 3-2, in 11 innings.
