Down By The Bay: Slow Day

A decidedly slower day yesterday than the day before. We had some baseball, and a little bit of football news, but beyond that it was slow, and for once, I was alright with that. Mostly because I destroyed my voice at the 49ers game Sunday and, as it happens, my throat is rather torn up and was pretty darn swollen this morning. So I was enjoying the day, coasting in the relative calm.

After the jump is all you need to know when it comes to the A's, Giants, 49ers, Raiders, Warriors, Sharks and all of Bay Area sports is laid in front of you by myself, as per our team specific blogs. So jump when I say jump... jump.

The Giants had themselves a good game. A great game, in fact. They pitched, they hit, they fielded well... let's just say it was a pretty darn good game. McCovey Chronicles is cautiously optimistic, unsure of exactly how to react to such a game. Their postgame thread is right here for your enjoyment/drunken partying.

No game for the A's yesterday, but they did elevate a fanshot with an interview I'm very looking forward to listen to in it. As I said, I haven't listened yet, but I'm sure it deserves a listen, so go ahead and do the clicking thing with your mouse and the typing thing with your keyboard if applicable and give it a spin,

A day removed from beating the Minnesota Favres, Niners Nation couldn't get over watching Patrick Willis sack Brett Favre. It was great, and must have been terrifying for the old man. Willis and Takeo Spikes running at him? Yikes. I've watched it about 600 times now, and I'll probably watch it that many times twice over.

Niners Nation also had a good look at the bubble players (players who are fighting for a spot on the 53-man roster), and who had good games out of them.
