Trevor Cahill continued his strong running of pitching with his first career complete game and shutout. Cahill threw 109 pitches in giving up 3 hits and 4 walks. The A’s bounced back from a tough weekend series loss at Chicago to defeat the Royals 6-0. Cahill has not given up a run since the 6th inning of his loss to the White Sox three starts ago. The shutout improved his record to 11-4 and lowered his era to 2.72, which ranks third among AL pitchers. His 0.99 WHIP is second among AL pitchers.
The A’s offense was led by Rajai Davis who was 2-for-4 with 2 runs and a 2-run homer in the 5th inning.
