Down By The Bay: Multiple Sports Equals Happiness

Well look at that! We had some games and what not yesterday! The Giants had a game and the Raiders had a... wait what?! Bay Area football is here? YOU BET YOUR... Well... You bet it is! Beyond that, we've got some interesting notes from the 49ers and things of that sort. Also trying out a bit of new formatting, if it looks rubbish - well that's because I won't be awake when this post goes up!

After the jump is all you need to know when it comes to the A's, Giants, 49ers, Raiders, Warriors, Sharks and all of Bay Area sports is laid in front of you by myself, as per our team specific blogs. So jump when I say jump... jump.

The Giants had yet another close game yesterday. Too close. I don't like it when the games are that close. Well, part of me does, but most of me just wants them to THROW STRIKES and SCORE RUNS and all-in-all not have to blame Grant over at McCovey Chronicles. Speaking of them, they've got a post-game thread for your perusal.

On top of that, how about the minor lines? I mean, why the heck not? Always quality, informative posts.

No game yesterday for the A's, but look no further than this post from Athletics Nation, a look at Eric Chavez.  I really can't say anything that this post doesn't so, so in lieu of that (I'm sort of tinkering with the phrase "If you haven't got anything nice to say don't say anything," except replace "nice" with "useful") I'll just leave it at that.

Over at Niners Nation, they took a look at Kentwan Balmer and the fact that his time as a 49er is probably limited at this point. He was a first round pick just a couple years ago, sucks to see it happen like that.

On the bright side, wide receiver Dominique Zeigler had himself a field day with the defense at practice, snaring a couple touchdown passes and giving the 49ers a reason to want to keep him.

The Raiders opened preseason yesterday against the Dallas Cowboys. Silver And Black Pride had a gamethread for the action, and then they also had their post-game thread, taking a brief look at the offense and how it looked against the Cowboys.

For action pertaining to the game yesterday, we had our story stream with a preview and a recap right here, courtesy of yours truly.

Silver And Black Pride also takes a look at the two tight end set and how best the Raiders can use it to possibly assist with some offensive line woes. I like the idea, I think Miller himself is a very underrated tight end and the other guys aren't anything to scoff at.

Admittedly, there isn't much going on for the Sharks right now. Hockey season is a ways off, and posting about the team is limited. Fear The Fin did, however, take a look at the top ten great moments of the 2009-2010 season. I'm quite partial to number two, personally. Joe Pavelski is a beast and I'm glad the team was able to bring him back. With Pavs, this team can go far - or at least they can in my head. I also am totally in love with that .gif image of Evgeni Nabokov's happy feet!

Much like the Sharks, there's not a whole lot going on for our Warriors. The NBA season is so far off I can't even remember what a game of basketball looks like. Still, Golden State Of Mind did get some radio talk and you can find the audio for that in this post. I've yet to listen but I'm going to right now.

In a bit of other news which isn't brand new, but still worth a look if you missed it - they've a post on the 2010-2011 Warriors schedule, so go browse that for a little while.
