Down By The Bay: Injury Bug Is Bad

Good morning everyone. We had baseball and football yesterday. Well, no actual football, but training camp is going on and that's going to be the story for awhile. The Giants and A's will play baseball while the Niners and Raidaaaahs will be going through training camp and preparing for the preseason.

After the jump is all you need to know when it comes to the A's, Giants, 49ers, Raiders, Warriors, Sharks and all of Bay Area sports is laid in front of you by myself, as per our team specific blogs. So jump when I say jump... jump.

Giants: They beat the Cubs yesterday, outlasted them in extra innings. I love the bit in the post-game thread from McCovey Chronicles about Buster Posey and wanting to see him get the game-winning hit. They really did rob the fans of that. Also over there, they've got the minor lines

A's: The other team in the Bay Area didn't fare quite as well. They fell 3-1 and Athletics Nation has a post-game thread up for you to discuss matters in.

49ers: Bad news for the 49ers, they learned that Eric Heitmann is out for some time with a leg injury. Niners Nation also had an open thread for the day of training camp and a post covering the release of the fan-hyped punt returner, LeRoy Vann.

Raiders: Silver And Black Pride took a quick look at the running back battle going on in training camp. I've got my money on McFadden taking it. I also think Cartwright has a lot of things that could be useful for the team, so he'll be on as well. They also examine some of the things going on in training camp, namely how it means both good and bad things when a running back can't get yardage. On one side, your offensive line isn't getting it done. On the other side, your defensive line is.

Cal: California Golden Blogs had some recruiting information, always solid from them and also took a look at the style of running back in a then versus now comparison of Shane Vereen to Jahvid Best.
