Raiders Agree To Terms With Campbell, Veldheer

The Oakland Raiders announced today that they've signed fourth-round offensive lineman Bruce Campbell and third-round offensive lineman Jared Veldheer to contracts. Veldheer went at 69th overall while Campbell was the 106th overall selection. Financial terms were not immediately disclosed.

Both players were selected later than they were projected (and probably imagined). Campbell, especially, figured to be a hard player to come to an agreement with after posting big numbers at the NFL Scouting Combine and shooting up mock draft lists to the first round. Many thought the Raiders would actually take him in the first round. When the second round came along, many thought he'd go there. Then he made it out of the third round and the team still managed to grab him in the fourth round. They were all smiles about that.

Veldheer could have went earlier than he did but was initially listed as a second-to-third round choice by most. Both players look to factor in to the starting offensive line unit and probably felt it was in their best interest to get signed as soon as possible. Veldheer has played mostly tackle and center while Campbell worked mostly at the guard position.
