Good morning everyone. I'm not entirely sure just how many people "everyone" qualifies as, but I have to imagine we're having a pretty good first week here at SB Nation Bay Area. My Down By The Bay posts continue, and I will do my best to make sure each day they get a little better. I'm no stranger to linking and discussing material, I've been doing the Golden Nuggets over at Niners Nation daily for some time now and they've recently become quite large, despite being the offseason. So hopefully the Down By The Bay posts will become equally as fleshed out. I plan on adding in more Stanford, Earthquakes and high school bits in here, I'm just compiling some sources presently.
After the jump is all you need to know when it comes to the A's, Giants, 49ers, Raiders, Warriors, Sharks and all of Bay Area sports is laid in front of you by myself, as per our team specific blogs. So jump when I say jump... jump.
A's: Can't disagree one bit with the opening bit in the post game thread/recap over at Athletics Nation:
We may have had our frustrations with the A's this month, but it seems like there is no cure for a losing streak quite like playing Pittsburgh, Baltimore and Cleveland.
I have basically nothing to add to that. It sums it up perfectly, I'm more of a Giants fan than an A's fan and even I delight on the A's beating up on lesser teams.
Giants: To talk about what's going on with the current Giants, I will now slam my face into my laptop keyboard, this, to me, is the best way to convey a Giants fan's feelings at the current moment. Here it goes: .ygewygwokir3u9. That was actually four hits. Anyway, here's the post-game thread from McCovey Chronicles.
Warriors: There was speculation on Golden State of Mind that the Warriors had some interest in Marvin Williams and acquiring him from the Hawks. Beyond that, they had a post about free agency and the lack of funds the Warriors have to be taking part in the class... and how the fans should be glad of this fact. I mean, in theory the post makes sense but I've never walked by a fancy restaurant, pictured the overpriced dishes inside and then thanked my lucky stars I didn't have a dime to my name.
Cal: Well, you can go check out their on-going list of best non-big games of the 2000s. What an obscure topic for a list... but, as an obscure person, I like it! Also, you can submit your vote for your favorite Golden Bear of the decade, which I will sleep on before I give my own opinion.
49ers: The folks over at Niners Nation (cough I'm one of them cough) keep the offseason rolling with posts comparing the team's Super Bowl championships. Personally, I like that last minute win against the Bengals. Doesn't get better than that drama. One of the posters over there also profiles some of the best defensive end prospects in college this coming year. Then, another poster had a bit about fantasy football, putting two prospective draft choices up against eachother.
Raiders: Silver and Black Pride got some offseason discussion going when they took a look at safety Michael Huff and the possibilities of him playing the cornerback position. I think Huff should make the switch, personally. It's a crowded safety situation and it's easy to see that he can play the position well. He could start at left cornerback.
