Despite the starpower that the Premier League side drew in, it was the newcomers that drew the most attention in a fairly disjoint scoreless affair in Santa Clara. Gareth Bale did indeed show some great touch with his balls, getting some great free kick looks and great movement with the ball.
The even younger Omar Jasseh impressed as well for the Earthquakes with some impressive runs down the field, making a few Spurs have to sprint to chase up with him. The real story was the pitch though—lots of players slipped on their shot attempts and passing, helping attribute to the high energy of the exhibition and resulting lack of goals.
Not a bad way to spend a Saturday, all things considered.
