Down By The Bay: Stop Head Scratching

Good morning everyone, settling in here for another edition of Down By The Bay, your daily source of Bay Area sports news as per our great sports blogs here at SB Nation. We had some baseball games, some draft news from the NHL front and absolutely nothing from the NFL. Ah well.

After the jump is all you need to know when it comes to the A's, Giants, 49ers, Raiders, Warriors, Sharks and all of Bay Area sports is laid in front of you by myself, as per our team specific blogs. So jump when I say jump... jump.

Giants: Well, the Giants lost yesterday but it wasn't a horrible game. They didn't look completely lost out there, and Bumgarner didn't have that terrible of a game. The Red Sox put up points early and once Bumgarner found his groove it was just too late. The Red Sox held their lead despite a late rally by the Giants. McCovey Chronicles has a post-game thread for discussing the game, encouraging yourself it will be OK, or just plain venting.

A's: Completely different story for the neighboring Oakland A's though, as they dominated the Pirates for the second straight day, though not to the same extremes. They took a 5-0 win, and stay completely unbeaten all-time against the Pirates. Good stuff. Athletics Nation has a post-game thread/mini-recap of sorts for discussing the game, flexing your stuff, or making fun of the Giants.

Warriors: If you're a Warriors fan, I implore you: stop scratching your head. Not because Ekpe Udoh isn't a head-scratching pick, but because you're going to scratch your fingers to the bone. Golden State Of Mind wonders if Don Nelson got the player he truly wanted in the draft (I think he did) and some brave soul takes a pseudo "look at the bright side" angle with the pick.

Sharks: Yesterday, the Sharks allowed the Philadelphia Flyers the right to negotiate with Evgeni Nabokov. Nabby is set to become an unrestricted free agent. The general feeling at Fear The Fin seems to be "Good for Nabby", which is admirable. He meant a lot to the fans and they want the best for him. Also, Fear The Fin had their draft coverage, with a bit on all the players taken in the second day of the NHL Entry Draft.

49ers: Well it's the NFL offseason, and that will be the case until... it's the onseason, imagine that. Until then, the references to the 49ers will be scarce, at least until training camp starts off. In the meantime, the question "Who's the next Bear Pascoe?" is asked and a look at football myths is taken.

Raiders: Not much going on here, but they do look at the usage of the words football, soccer and american football. What do you call it?
