Down By The Bay: Where Disappointment Grows

Good morning all. The NBA Draft took place yesterday and if you're wondering what the disappointment I speak of is concerning... look no further than after the jump at the Warriors section. It wasn't a catastrophic day for them, but it was one the spoke utter dissatisfaction for fans of the struggling, for-sale franchise.

After the jump is all you need to know when it comes to the A's, Giants, 49ers, Raiders, Warriors, Sharks and all of Bay Area sports is laid in front of you by myself, as per our team specific blogs. So jump when I say jump... jump.

Warriors: With their sixth overall pick in the draft, the Warriors ended up taking Ekpe Udoh out of Baylor University. You see it correctly, that's over a thousand votes for the "bad pick" option. Still, he was picked, and after the jump on this post, Udoh answers some questions (delivered via Twitter). So he's there, he's a Warrior, a trade didn't happen like they wanted it to, and apparently some folks fell asleep during the whole process (or took a whole bottle of sleeping pills).

Giants: Spirits continue to drop at record rates as the Giants gave up their second consecutive game to the Astros, here's a link to a post-game thread and also McCovey Chronicles' minor lines for the day. It was a... wildly frustrating game. They were just a hit away from coming back, too. Just one hit.

A's: The best thing for A's fans to do yesterday was to distract themselves from their team - and that's what they did over at Athletics Nation. Is that really WWE talk in the comments? Really? I'd rather distract myself with more pleasant thoughts, like going to the dentist or something of that nature.

Sharks: Spirits were low when the news broke the Evgeni Nabokov would not be back with the team, but they're right back up again with news that the Sharks have re-signed longtime player Patrick Marleau and rising star Joe Pavelski. Marleau is just a sign of stability to the team and its fans - many are worried with all of the free agents this offseason that the team won't be able to come out in-shape, but bringing back such a figure is most definitely a good sign, and signing someone like Pavelski for four years is showing the team has its priorities straight. How about some Setoguchi now, yeah?

49ers: Want proof the NFL offseason sucks? One of the biggest topics for discussion over at Niners Nation was the fact that they get no respect when it comes to Madden ratings. Of course, there was also some solid roster projection (do you guys think Patrick Willis will make it? Do ya do ya do ya?).

Raiders: The Raiders all froze themselves cryogenically yesterday so they didn't make any dumb mistakes - that or everyone was at the NBA draft because Silver and Black Pride had nothing yesterday. Slackers!
