Nevada Has Sold Nearly 15,000 Tickets For Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl

While Stanford continually has to defend itself from attacks about its ability to travel for a bowl game, the Nevada Wolkpack fan base is certainly stepping up. Reports out of Reno indicate Nevada has sold nearly 15,000 tickets for its upcoming matchup with Boston College in the 2011 Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl. To put that in perspective, they had an initial allotment of 11,000 beginning four days ago.

It's not exactly surprising given the proximity of Reno to the Bay Area. It's a bit of a drive, but it's certainly not as difficult as Stanford fans have it getting to Miami for the Orange Bowl. And, as mentioned yesterday, the number of Giants fans that are also Wolfpack fans makes it just a little bit easier to sell tickets. Although BC will get its share of fans into the stadium, I'd have to imagine Nevada will enjoy a bit of a home field advantage on January 9.
