De La Salle has won 81 consecutive games within its league, tying them with Long Beach Poly. It was a rout early on as the starters only played for the first half.
On offense, Joe Te'o continued to make strides as the Spartans' No. 2 running back. He caught a 46-yard touchdown pass from Bart Houston, rushed for 49 yards on just five carries and continued to show flashes of great talent. "He ran with some power, showed a couple good cuts. He had a good game," De La Salle coach Bob Ladouceur said. "A lot of kids contributed tonight, and I like that." Another player that made the most of his opportunity was backup quarterback Michael Parros. Parros played the entire second half and rushed for 137 yards, including touchdown runs of 82 and 20 yards. The Spartans defensive secondary also continued its improvement, with Scott Herting, Austin Rainey and Nico VanderKlugt all intercepting a pass. Herting, a starting safety, has played particularly well in recent weeks and now has four interceptions to lead the team.
