Palo Alto Wins Rivalry Game With Gunn, Scoring 49 Unanswered Points

The Vikings moved to 5-0 and will try to stay at the top of the SCVAL section in a crucial matchup with Los Gatos. John Reid of the San Jose Mercury News with the story.

The Vikings scored on their second possession. B.J. Boyd broke off a 24-yard gain, then Dre Hill followed with a run of 14 yards. Hill went over from a yard out, the first of his three touchdowns.

Late in the first period, Boyd took a pitch then burst up the middle for a 56-yard score. Boyd finished the night with 121 yards on eight carries, a 15.1-yard average per carry.

"Boyd blocked," Paly coach Earl Hansen said. "He did things he didn't do before. We got better as the game went on. Our running game picked up quite a bit and our offensive line got better."

Paly quarterback Christoph Bono was 8-for-12 for 165 yards. Bono threw a 34-yard touchdown pass to Davante Adams and a 47-yard touchdown pass to Williams, who juked a defender before racing in for the score.
