Down By The Bay: Almost Perfect

Down by the Bay is a daily catch-up of Bay Area sports action from the previous day. It's here on SB Nation Bay Area every morning at the same time, and it's the first thing you should be reading to catch up on the San Francisco 49ers, Oakland Raiders, San Francisco Giants, Oakland A's, San Jose Sharks and Golden State Warriors. After the jump is all you need to know, so make it and let's get to it. When I say jump, jump. So, uh, jump, right now.

The postgame thread from McCovey Chronicles said it best in the headline. Go ahead and go read it, I think it reflects perfectly on the way the game went. I can't handle games like that, I'll tell you that much. So scary. Also, be sure to go vote in this poll. I voted for Madison Bumgarner, personally. I think it's important to save Lincecum for full rest if we need him at home.

The Raiders had themselves a huge win yesterday. Beating the Chargers is exactly what they needed for this season. The thirteen-game losing streak to them couldn't have been a great feeling either. Silver and Black Pride has a postgame thread up.

0-5 leaves a bad taste in my mouth, but it's how it is right now. The 49ers lost to the Eagles and not much else can be said about it. Niners Nation had a postgame thread on the matter, then they had another once that one filled up, and then after that had a post with some postgame notes and quotes and the like.

While the San Jose Sharks wait about a week to get things going again, Fear The Fin takes a look at Marc-Edourard Vlasic and his possible regression. I like the guy a lot, and I'm with them on the "on-season, off-season" kind of situation. Or maybe it's just me hoping that it's the case, either way, you know.

An odd game thread over at Golden State Of Mind yesterday. No audio for the game, no video for the game. Why was the summer league streamed, yet the preseason isn't? It's bizarre to me, to say the least. Either way, they had their postgame link compilation over at GSoM, so head over there to browse.
