Warriors vs. Cavaliers score: Golden State wins 106-96

The Golden State Warriors jumped out to an early lead, then held on for a 106-96 win against Cleveland on Wednesday.

Behind an offensive onslaught from Stephen Curry in the first quarter, the Golden State Warriors opened a big lead on Wednesday and were able to hold off several Cleveland runs to beat the Cavaliers 106-96.

Behind 15 first quarter points from Curry, the Warriors jumped out to a 37-21 lead after the first quarter. Curry made 5 of 6 shots in the opening quarter, helping Golden State build a 16-point lead. Curry's backcourt mate Klay Thompson added nine first quarter points. The Cavs cut Golden State's lead in half during the second quarter with Kyrie Irving leading the way with 10 points. Golden State made 48.9 percent of its field goal attempts in the first half, taking a 59-51 lead.

Cleveland erased the Warriors lead with a 19-7 run to open the second half, but the Warriors came right back. After going down two points, the Warriors closed the quarter on a 17-4 run building their lead back up to 11.The Cavs never got much closer as Golden State held on for the 10-point win.

Curry finished with 21 points, but he was one of six Warriors in double figures. David Lee led Golden State with 22 points and 14 rebounds while Carl Landry scored 19 points off the bench. After scoring nine points in the first quarter, Thompson finished the game with 13. Irving scored 28 points and dished out seven assists in a losing effort for the Cavs.
