Mark Jackson pleased with progress of Warriors rookies

Isaiah J. Downing-US PRESSWIRE

Mark Jackson attributes his rookies' success to their hard work and dedication since being drafted in June.

Mark Jackson is proud of his group of rookies and he doesn't give all the credit to the vitamins the team has them taking.

Jackson spoke with reporters, including CSN Bay Area, and let them know that the reason why Harrison Barnes and Draymond Green are playing so well lately is because of the work they put in. As soon as the draft was over, they were with the Warriors, ready to work. That work turned into a successful run through summer league and then their first training camps. Now, all that hard work is turning into production on the big stage.

"To be honest, those guys weren't ready when we got them," Jackson said. "But because of their hard work, dedication and their commitment, they're experiencing success."

Barnes is averaging 10.7 points and 5.0 rebounds on 47.5% shooting. His best game of the season thus far was a 20 point, 12 rebound game in a win over the Dallas Mavericks on Nov. 19. Green hasn't put up the same numbers as Barnes, but his ability to do a little bit of everything, including handling the ball, is showing up more and more as he gets comfortable in his role off the bench.
