Warriors vs. Nuggets score: 3rd quarter dooms Warriors in 102-91 loss

Chris Humphreys-US PRESSWIRE

The Warriors struggled to stop Andre Iguodala in a 102-91 loss to the Nuggets.

Denver guard Andre Iguodala scored a season-high 29 points as the Nuggets knocked off the Golden State Warriors, 102-91, on Friday.

The Warriors led, 53-47, at halftime, but Iguodala took over and scored 21 of his 29 points in the second half. The Warriors' six-point halftime lead quickly evaporated in the third quarter. Golden State went cold as Denver began to heat up. The Nuggets outscored Golden State, 31-17, in the quarter, making 50 percent of their shots compared to 23.8 percent for the Warriors.

The Warriors shot better in the fourth quarter, but were unable to make up any ground as Denver still outscored them, 24-21. The Nuggets outscored Golden State, 55-38, in the second half. While Iguodala led the Nuggets with 29 points, Danilo Gallinari chipped in 20 of his own. David Lee posted a double-double for Golden State, finishing with 21 points and 10 rebounds.

The Warriors had won four of their last five games entering Friday. They will return home Saturday for the first game of a four-game homestand.
