Warriors vs. Mavericks final score: Stephen Curry leads Golden State to 105-101 win

Kyle Terada-US PRESSWIRE

Stephen Curry overcame an ankle injury and got great support from the young rookies to glide the Golden State Warriors past the Dallas Mavericks.

The Golden State Warriors moved to a 6-5 record on Monday, beating the Dallas Mavericks in American Airlines Center in overtime by the final score of 105-101. The Warriors were coming off a loss the night before in Oklahoma City, but they rebounded to win a tough one on the road.

It looked bleak when Stephen Curry seemed to re-injure his ankle, going to the ground in the fourth quarter. Instead, Curry came back with a vengeance. He scored 20 points overall in the second half and made big play after big play in the final quarter and overtime. Curry led the Warriors with 31 points, six rebounds and nine assists. He said after the game that his injury was just a stinger, and he was ready to play the entire game.

The Warriors rookies had great nights as well. Harrison Barnes piled up 20 points and 12 rebounds for Golden State, and Fetus Ezeli also stepped up with an incredible seven offensive rebounds along with his nine points. The other rookie, Draymond Green, added nine points, seven rebounds and three steals. Veteran David Lee added 17 points, 19 rebounds, and three assists.

Dallas was led by O.J. Mayo with 27 points and Chris Kaman with 18 points and 17 rebounds.

The Warriors outrebounded the Mavericks, 62-43 (including 19-7 on the offensive glass), and overcame several comeback efforts by Dallas and their own shooting struggles, making just under 41% of their shots. The Warriors head home to take on Brooklyn on Wednesday.
