Second-year pro sees his "role changing" this season.
Heading into his second NBA season, Golden State Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson believes his role on the team should increase this year, according to a report on CSNBayArea.com.
"I definitely see my role changing," Thompson told CSNBayArea.com. "I'm working with (the starting unit). I should have a lot more responsibility on my shoulders, which I welcome. I just love my role now and I can't wait to start playing games and seeing what I can do.
"Hopefully with my work over the summer, I can be more efficient. I think I'm going to get more open looks because we have more post players now and there are so many perimeter scorers."
Thompson earned a starting role last season after the Warriors traded Monta Ellis to the Milwaukee Bucks. As a rookie, the 6'7", 205-pound guard averaged 24.4 minutes and 12.5 points per game. Taking 11 shots per game, Thompson shot 44 percent from the field.
