After putting together a group that looked a lot like a starting lineup preview, Warriors head coach Mark Jackson suggested there's little rhyme or reason to the groups he's putting on the floor in training camp.

Golden State Warriors head coach Mark Jackson says there's nothing to the way he's splitting up his groups during workouts at the team's training camp, according to Matt Steinmetz of CSN Bay Area.

One of the groups Jackson put together for Wednesday's practice session looked an awful lot like what the Warriors starting lineup might be when the team opens the 2012-13 season. That group featured Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Brandon Rush, David Lee and Festus Ezeli. If he were healthy, injured center Andrew Bogut probably would have worked with that group, hence the speculation that it was a starting lineup preview.

Jackson said that wasn't necessarily the case, however.

Via CSN Bay Area:

"That's just the way I broke it up from the first day," Jackson said. "But there's nothing into it only because you've got to make teams. One thing, though, is I wanted Steph and Klay to be together because they haven't played much together."

The small forward spot appears to be the only starting spot that is up for grabs in Warriors camp this year, as Richard Jefferson, Harrison Barnes and Rush are competing for minutes at the position.

The Warriors open the 2012-13 season on Oct. 31 in Phoenix against the Suns.
