The Warriors beat the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday, but Stephen Curry left the game with an ankle injury.
The Golden State Warriors improved to 5-1 in the preseason with a 101-97 win against the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday, but the focus after the game was Stephen Curry, who left the game with an ankle injury.
Curry, who played just 26 games last season while dealing with an ankle injury, left the game during the second quarter when a Portland defender stepped on his ankle as he went for a steal. Curry did not return to the game with the team calling the injury a sprain. The Warriors said no MRI is scheduled, which could be a sign that the injury is not serious.
With Curry playing just 12 minutes, David Lee and Klay Thompson led the way for the Warriors. Lee scored a game-high 24 points while Thompson scored 19 on 7-of-13 shooting. The Warriors also got a strong performance from their bench with Carl Landry and Brandon Rush both scoring in double figures. Landry finished with 18 points while Rush scored 16.
The Warriors will continue preseason play on Monday when they travel to Los Angeles to face the Clippers.
