Arizona vs. Stanford score update: Cardinal open 4th quarter with 34-33 lead over Wildcats

Stay connected for news and updates

In a third quarter that saw several lead changes, the Stanford Cardinal were able to stay atop the Arizona Wildcats after the completion of the third quarter, but have a slim 34-33 lead over the Wildcats at Stanford Stadium.

Both Arizona and Stanford scored three touchdowns in the third quarter alone, making this Saturday afternoon showdown a high-scoring affair.

It was the Cardinal, however, that were able to score last in the third quarter to regain the lead, thanks to a 55-yard run from freshman running back Kelsey Young. It was Young's only carry of the game, but the freshman certainly made it count.

Meanwhile, the Cardinal defense continued to struggle in the third quarter, specifically against the pass. Arizona quarterback Matt Scott threw for two passing touchdowns in the third quarter and put Wildcats running back Ka'Deem Carey in position to run it for a 1-yard rushing touchdown for another.
