Arizona vs. Stanford score update: Cardinal lead 7-0 after 1st quarter

Stay connected for news and updates

The Stanford Cardinal lead the Arizona Wildcats by the score of 7-0, after one quarter of play at Stanford Stadium.

The No. 18 ranked Cardinal started things off with an 11 play, 65 yard drive that resulted in a touchdown for Stanford football. While it was an 11 yard passing touchdown in the red zone from quarterback Josh Nunes to tight end Zach Ertz, it was the legs of running back Stepfan Taylor that put the Cardinal in a scoring situation.

Meanwhile the Cardinal defense proved to be its stout self in the first quarter, dominating the offensive line and getting constant pressure in the backfield. Stanford defense has done a great job at stopping the run, specifically, allowing just one yard on the ground in five carries for the Wildcats.

As aforementioned above, it was senior running back Stepfan Taylor that starred in the first half, taking 11 carries for 42 yards.
