The Stanford Cardinal are heading toward the Sun Bowl to play an ACC opponent if everything plays out the way CBS Sports sees it.

Stanford is currently expected to play the Miami Hurricanes in the Sun Bowl on Dec. 31, according to CBS Sports' most recent bowl projections.

The Sun Bowl takes place in El Paso, Texas and is usually reserved for the No. 4 team in the ACC to play the No. 4 team in the Pac-12. This means that they're projecting Stanford to finish above Arizona State and UCLA, but behind the likes of Oregon, Oregon State and USC.

As for the rest of the Pac-12 bowl projections, CBS shockingly sees USC emerging victorious from the Pac-12 championship and playing Nebraska in the Rose Bowl.

With the Trojans set for the conference's biggest game, CBS has Oregon playing Texas in the Alamo Bowl and Oregon State playing Oklahoma State in the Holiday Bowl.

Rounding out the rest of the conference bowl games, CBS projects UCLA to play Nevada in the Las Vegas Bowl, Arizona State to face San Diego State in the New Mexico Bowl and Washington to take on Navy in the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl.

The Cal Golden Bears are currently not projected for a bowl game with an overall record of 3-5 and three conference losses.
