On Saturday, the Stanford Cardinal held their annual spring game. The 2012 Stanford football season is one that will be fraught with questions, not least of which is who will fill the enormous gap left by consensus No. 1 NFL draft pick Andrew Luck. Stanford has a few options for filling the quarterback role but none is proven in the slightest.

The Associated Press via SI.com reports that the two top candidates for the job, Brett Nottingham and Josh Nunes, answered no questions as they split time in the Saturday's scrimmage game between the offense and the defense. The defense were the stars of the show in the spring game, picking up the 37-29 win (based on points for stops and turnovers).

The two prospective QBs had somewhat similar performances, although neither was particularly impressive. Nunes threw for 167 yards and had two touchdowns, but was a rough 11-for-29. Nottingham, meanwhile, was 12-for-19 and threw for 118 yards with an interception and a lost fumble.
