Given the uncertainty surrounding the quarterback position, senior-to-be Stepfan Taylor is going to have to step up.

The Stanford Cardinal had quite the season in 2011, making it all the way to the Fiesta Bowl with star quarterback Andrew Luck running the show. Now that Luck and numerous other first round talents leaving the program, there are quite a few interesting position battles to watch for this spring. The Cardinal will play their annual Spring Game on Saturday, April 12 at Kezar Stadium.

The pre-game festivities are set to begin at noon, with kickoff coming at 2 p.m. Admission is free to everyone and fans are encouraged to stick around after.

Most feel that Brett Nottingham is the favorite to land the starting quarterback job, given his experience backing up Luck last season. Josh Nunes has reportedly played well in spring practice and could give Nottingham a run for his money, as will Robbie Picazo.

Given the uncertainty with the QB spot, fans can expect to hear senior running back Stepfan Taylor have his name called early and often. He will be in contention for Pac-12 Player of the Year and will be a key piece of the puzzle if the Cardinal hope to make a run in 2012.
