The Stanford Cardinal missed out on the NCAA Tournament but they will have another shot. at a postseason tournament. The NIT selections will be announced on Sunday.
The Stanford Cardinal finished in the middle of the Pac-12 following the 2011-12 season. They didn't have an exceptionally strong showing in the 2012 Pac-12 Tournament and as a result, missed out on a bid for the 2012 NCAA Tournament when the seeds were announced on Selection Sunday.
But the Cardinal may still have a chance to wind up in a postseason tournament. They are projected to be on the bubble as a No. 7 seed in the 2012 NIT Tournament.
Selections for the NIT will be announced at 6:00 p.m. PT on Sunday. For more info on the tournament projections, check out NIT-ology.
