Stanford Cardinal To Debut Their Nike Pro Combat Uniforms vs. Notre Dame

The University of Oregon is in all but name the University of Nike, with Phil Knight as their primary donor. The Ducks have become well-renowned for their eccentric uniform designs, and now they're spreading their colorful jerseys all across the college football landscape next year. The Stanford Cardinal and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish will be two of the participants in their Thanksgiving weekend contest. Find out the rest after the jump!

September 3: LSU Tigers vs. Oregon Ducks in Cowboys Stadium, Dallas, TX
September 3: Georgia Bulldogs vs. Boise St. Broncos in Georgia Dome, Atlanta, GA
October 15: Michigan Wolverines at Michigan St. Spartans
October 22: Auburn Tigers at LSU Tigers
October 29: Wisconsin Badgers at Ohio St. Buckeyes
November 27: Notre Dame at Stanford
December 10: Army Black Knights vs. Navy Midshipmen in FedEx Field, Landover, MD

The official marketing slogan is that the uniforms are meant for fierce rivalries. It's hard for me to understand the phrase "fierce rivalry" in the context of the Cardinal football game, since Stanford fans probably think of Notre Dame as that church in the story where Quasimodo saved the Gypsies, and Notre Dame thinks of Stanford as that school where Steve Jobs learned how to market the iPod.
