As the Stanford Cardinal prepare for next week's trip to New York for the semifinals of the Dick's Sporting Goods NIT Season Tip-Off tourney, they first have to deal with their first road test of the year in the form of the UC Davis Aggies.
UC Davis (1-3, 0-0 Big West) beat Division III UC Santa Cruz 84-78 two nights ago to pick up its first win of the year. The Aggies are currently averaging 74.0 points and 30.8 rebounds per game, though they've struggled with defense as teams average 78.2 points per game MAke sure to keep an eye on: Josh Ritchart (15.3 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 47.8 percent FG), Ryan Sypkens (14.5 ppg, 5.0 rpg, team-high 14 three-pointers) and Ryan Howley (9.8 ppg, 6.3 rpg).
Stanford colds a large 14-1 advantage in the all time series with the Aggies, including a 85-69 win over the Aggies back on Dec. 13, 2009, the last time these two met. UC Davis came away with its only win (64-58) in the series on Dec. 4, 2005, the only other time they've played at Davis.
