Missouri Upsets Texas A&M: How It Impacts Stanford And BCS Rankings

The Texas A&M Aggies will probably not be seeing a Big 12 championship after being stunned by the Missouri Tigers at home in College Station. A&M was up 28-14 before giving up 17 unanswered points to fall behind 31-28, although they did rally to tie things and send the game into overtime. The Tigers then scored the first touchdown of overtime and stuffed the Aggies on 4th down to win things.

You might not think that it impacts the Stanford Cardinal that much, but it should provide an incremental improvement. Stanford was still trailing Texas A&M in two of the computer polls, and could get enough of a decent boost to move the Cardinal into a more solid position in every area of the BCS rankings. This could also depress the quality of victories for other Big 12 teams like Oklahoma State and Kansas State, who are still in contention to go undefeated in their conference and would potentially be competitors for a BCS title spot with the Cardinal.
