The completion of Saturday's slate of week eight college football games means we are close to getting the week nine BCS rankings Sunday afternoon. Prior to those rankings coming out, BCS projections are the name of the game. Samuel Chi of BCSGuru.com put together a BCS rankings projection for SB Nation and he believes the Boise State Falcons will take a hit due to their lackluster victory over the Air Force Falcons.
Chi projects the top ten as follows:
1. LSU
2. Alabama
3. Oklahoma State
4. Clemson
5. Stanford
6. Boise State
7. Arkansas
8. Kansas State
9. Oregon
10. Oklahoma
If Stanford can climb into the top five on the backs of their victory over Washington, that would bode well for their chances of leapfrogging Clemson later in the season. Clemson has some solid games left on their schedule against Georgia Tech and South Carolina, with Virginia Tech as a possibility in the ACC title game.
However, Stanford might have the trump card with their matchup against the Oregon Ducks. If Stanford and Oregon can both remain undefeated heading into their November 12 showdown at Stanford Stadium, we would be looking at a pair of top ten teams battling for Pac-12 supremacy.
