NHL lockout: Devin Setoguchi back in California, Brad Winchester signs overseas

Brad Winchester is headed overseas and Devin Setoguchi was back in the Bay Area as an opponent as the NHL lockout continues to put players in new locations.

According to CSN Bay Area, Brad Winchester has found a home for the lockout. Winchester will join the Finnish team TuTo in the second tier Mestis league. It was already doubtful that Winchester was going to be back with the San Jose Sharks next season and this signing could be the final nail in the coffin to his return.

Winchester scored six goals and had four assists in 67 games with the Sharks last season after signing a one-year deal. He is currently an unrestricted free agent.

Meanwhile, former Sharks forward Devin Setoguchi made his debut with the ECHL's Ontario Reign on Wednesday in a 3-1 win over San Francisco where he recorded a pair of assists.

Setoguchi's reason for playing was pretty simple, as told to CSN Bay Area.

"It's nice to get in here and get in full practices, get the good sweat on, a good workout, get back to being involved in certain situations that you wouldn't be in your normal day skates," Setoguchi said.

Both Setoguchi and Sharks left wing Ryane Clowe, who could be playing for San Francisco at some point, thought the lockout would be done by now and they wouldn't have to play for new teams but it doesn't look like the sides are any closer to coming to an agreement.
