San Jose State vs. UTSA score update: Spartans maintain lead, up 52-24

Stay connected for news and updates

The San Jose State Spartans are in control early in the fourth quarter, as they lead the Texas-San Antonio Road Runners, 52-24 with 10 minutes to play. The two teams traded touchdowns in the third quarter, and the Spartans will likely coast to an easy victory in this one.

UTSA quarterback Ryan Polite notched his second touchdown pass of the day when he hit Kenny Anderson from five yards out to cap an 80-yard drive.

The Spartans got the points back as they capitalized on UTSA's fourth turnover for the day. The Spartans built the lead to as much as 52-17 on a David Fales touchdown pass, but the Road Runners answered by returning a fumble for a touchdown to put the score where it is.

The win will not count towards bowl eligibility for SJSU, as UTSA is an FBS transitional member. The Spartans would still need two more wins in their remaining five games.
