San Jose State vs. UTSA score update: Spartans maintain huge lead, up 38-10 at half

Stay connected for news and updates

The San Jose State Spartans have had little trouble with the UTSA Roadrunners so far on the road on Saturday, leading 38-10 at halftime. SJSU jumped out to a 28-0 lead early, and didn't punt for the first time until just before the end of the second quarter.

UTSA didn't get on the board until they were already down 31-0 when Ryan Polite hit Evans Okotcha on a 69-yard screen pass for a touchdown. The excitement for the Roadrunners was short-lived, as SJSU's Tyler Ervin took the ensuing kickoff back for a touchdown.

The game looks far more lopsided than it actually has been, as SJSU has only out-gained UTSA 253-171. Three lost fumbles have ruined any chance that the Roadrunners had on Saturday.

SJSU quarterback David Fales has had an efficient day, completing 11-of-16 passes for 191 yards and two touchdowns. The Spartans will get the ball to start the second half.
