The San Jose St. Spartans had a solid start to their season in non-conference play, winning four of their first five games. The team lost by a small margin to Stanford, 20-17, but then rolled off four straight wins against UC Davis, Colorado State, San Diego State and Navy. However, San Jose State then dropped its first game of conference play in Week 6, losing to Utah State, 49-27. The Spartans are currently 0-1 in WAC play.
They'll be facing the Texas-San Antonio Roadrunners on Saturday. UTSA is 5-1 and 1-0 in the WAC, beating New Mexico State to notch that first win in conference play. However, the Roadrunners are coming off a tough loss to Rice last week in which they gave up nearly 500 total yards, with over 300 coming on the ground. UTSA will now have to try and recover this week against the Spartans, who don't particularly run the football well, but have a solid quarterback in David Fales. Can the Roadrunners do a good job of holding San Jose State's passing attack down?
