Samsonov has 235 goals and 336 assists in 888 games since entering the league in 1997 as a first-round pick of the Boston Bruins.
The San Jose Sharks will bring in former NHL All-Star and left wing Sergei Samsonov to training camp for a tryout, according to CSN Bay Area's Kevin Kurz via the Edmonton Journal.
The information was delivered by Samsonov's agent, former Shark Igor Larionov.
Larionov said his client Sergei Samsonov, the one-time Oilers winger, will be getting a tryout with the San Jose Sharks, if there is an NHL training camp. Samsonov, who was on the Oilers' 2006 team, didn't play at all last season.
Samsonov is a 33-year-old veteran of 14 NHL seasons with six teams (Boston, Edmonton, Montreal, Chicago, Carolina and Florida). He came into the league in 1997, won the Calder Trophy during his rookie season and was an All-Star in 2001. He last played in 2010-11 for 78 games with the Hurricanes and Panthers, scoring 13 goals and creating 27 assists.
