The Sharks find themselves the underdog in their first round matchup with the St. Louis Blues, looking to make another deep playoff run in 2012. For more on the Sharks head over to Fear the Fin.
After a strong late season push the San Jose Sharks find themselves at the No. 7 seed in the 2012 NHL playoffs, but have drawn themselves a tough one in the form of the No. 2 seeded St. Louis Blues, setting up an exciting matchup in the first round this year.
San Jose went 0-4-0 against the Blues this season, not scoring a single goal in two shutout losses on the road at the Scottrade Center. In all, the Sharks was outscored 11-3 in their four-game series this season, obviously needing a much different output if they want to get farther than the first round. This will truly be the first series in the past few seasons that the Sharks are seen as a true 'underdog,' and will need to keep up their excellent play if they want to have a chance.
The series will be played with a 2-2-1-1-1 format, with the first two games played in St. Louis than the next two at HP Pavilion in San Jose. Game Time and TV Network is noted below. All times ET.
