The Los Angeles Kings are very close to wrapping up the Pacific Division Crown in the Western Conference. That would assure them of the third overall seed and home ice in the first round of the playoffs. The San Jose Sharks are close behind, and they know how crucial winning the division is. The Kings are well behind the fourth, fifth and sixth seeds in points, and the Sharks currently are situated in eight place in the West.
The Kings got a big win against the Edmonton Oilers, winning 2-0 behind goals by Slava Voynov and Dwight King. The Kings now take a three point lead over the Sharks going into their final two games of the regular season, meaning the Sharks need to sweep to have any chance to win the division.
