Earthquakes vs. FC Dallas Final Score: Disappointing Draw for the Quakes

The San Jose Earthquakes took on FC Dallas Saturday in Dallas. The Earthquakes were looking to preserve their lead atop the the MLS, while FC Dallas was looking to end a win-less streak that was longer than any in franchise history. The 0-0 draw on Saturday meant that San Jose was able to maintain its lead in the league table and also continue to have the best road record in the MLS.

Going up against the team with the worst record int he Western Conference, the Earthquakes were hoping to come away with three points and they almost did. While FC Dallas walked away with more shots than San Jose, 14-9, the Quakes came very close to scoring on three separate occasions. Twice, FC Dallas defenders cleared shots off of the goal line and two late opportunities were thwarted by FC Dallas keeper, Kevin Hartman who notched his 109th shutout, an MLS record.

Up next, the Quakes return home to take on the Real Salt Lake in a matchup between the teams with the two best records in the MLS. With only one point separating the two, this matchup may prove to be very important late in the season.
