The San Francisco Giants took the first two games against the Colorado Rockies this week at AT&T Park and will try to wrap up another series victory against an NL West foe on Wednesday with Matt Cain on the mound.
Cain (14-5, 2.93 ERA) has had Colorado's number as of late, owning a 6-1 record with a 3.00 ERA in his last nine starts against them. At AT&T Cain gets even better, going 4-0 with a 1.69 ERA in his last five starts against Colorado at home. Cain tossed five innings of one-run ball in his last start against Arizona in the Giants' 6-2 win.
Colorado will counter with Tyler Chatwood (4-4, 5.65). He received no decision after allowing four runs in just 3.2 innings against San Diego in his last start, and is 1-1 with a 1.59 ERA with a save in three games against the Giants. He earned the win in his only appearance in San Francisco on Aug. 10, allowing just three hits in five innings of the Rockies' 3-0 victory. Chatwood is 0-1 with an 8.49 ERA so far in three September starts.
First pitch is set for 7:15 p.m. PT with coverage on CSN Bay Area and KNBR 680 AM.
