The Giants didn't miss suspended superstar Melky Cabrera as they pounded the San Diego Padres, 10-1 in the series opener in San Diego on Friday night.

The offense was plenty potent enough to produce without their All-Star outfielder present -- every Giants player reached base safely in the third inning when the team broke the game open and scored eight runs. From that point on, the game was all but over and out of reach for the offensively-challenged Padres.

Matt Cain (12-5) was dominant in the contest, no-hitting the Padres through 4 1/3 innings until Yonder Alonso doubled to right field. He notched his 12th win of the season and managed to strike out six through eight innings of work.

Marco Scutaro, who has 17 RBI through 20 games in a Giants uniform, started the offensive barrage with a home run off Padres right-hander Ross Ohlendorf (4-4) in the top of the first inning.
