The Giants take on the Pirates for a three game set at PNC Park.
The San Francisco Giants head to the Steel City with the fresh burns of a painful sweep at the hands of the Washington Nationals, looking to turn it around against another first place team in the Pittsburgh Pirates.
The Black and Orange will have another uphill battle as the Buccos are winners of their last four straight, sweeping the Astros at home in their last series. This will be the last series for both teams before the start of the All-Star break.
Erik Bedard (4-9, 4.57) takes on Barry Zito (6-6, 3.84) in the series opener. Bedard has lost three of hist last four starts while Zito took a hard luck loss in his last outing after giving up just one run. First pitch is at 4:05 p.m. PT with coverage on CSNBA and KNBR 680 AM.
James McDonald (8-3, 2.45) and Ryan Vogelsong (7-3, 2.26)get it on in game two. McDonald was won his last three outings while Vogey got a no decision in his last start against the Reds. First pitch is at 1:05 p.m. PT with coverage on CSNBA and KNBR 680 AM.
A.J. Burnett (9-2, 3.74) faces RHP Tim Lincecum (3-9, 6.08) in the series finale on Sunday. First pitch is at 10:35 a.m. PT with coverage on CSNBA and KNBR 680 AM.
