Giants Vs. Mets: Aubrey Huff, Angel Pagan Go Down With Injury

After a disappointing 8-7 loss in extra innings to the New York Mets on Monday, the San Francisco Giants had some proverbial salt poured in their wounds as Aubrey Huff and Angel Pagan both went down with injury during the game.

Huff may be on his way back to the DL, CSN Bay Area's Andrew Baggarly reports, after a very short stint back in the majors after hurting his already ailing knee while running to first on a double-play grounder. Huff, who was pinch hitting for Madison Bumgarner, was removed right after.

"I'll have more for you tomorrow," Bochy said. "That's a concern. He wasn't getting down the line good. He hurt his knee again. We'll see what we're going to do there."

Huff originally injured his knee when he fell while trying to jump over the dugout rail to celebrate Cain's perfect game on June 13. He's spent a long time in the minors doing rehab assignments before being activated over the weekend.

As for Pagan, he had to be replaced in the seventh inning after bruising his right hand while punching something in frustration.

"He snapped after one at-bat," Bochy said of Pagan, who struck out twice and angrily flipped his bat after hitting a fly out right field. "I don't know what he hit. We'll check on him tomorrow."

Pagan did not go for X-rays and it's believed the injury is not serious.

With the trade deadline coming up at 1 p.m. PT later today, the Giants could still make a trade. Let's see if these injuries play any role in that.
